Chain Link Fence Supply: Galvanized-After-Weave Fabric by the Foot
All-State sells chain link fabric, posts, top rail, fittings and gates at all three Fence Supply Centers — Lubbock, Amarillo & Canyon, and Midland & Odessa — to homeowners, contractors, ranchers and oilfield crews, with no minimum order. Our fabric is galvanized after weaving, which is a better and more expensive fabric than the galvanized-before-weave rolls sold at most big-box stores. It’s also a tighter 2¼-inch mesh, heavier than the 2⅜-inch mesh most box stores sell at the same height and gauge, and we sell it by the linear foot.
What’s the difference between galvanized after weave and before weave?
It’s the order the steps happen in, and it decides where the fence rusts first.
Galvanized before weave (GBW): the wire is zinc-coated first, then bent and woven into the diamond pattern and cut to length. Weaving works the coating at every bend, and every cut end is bare steel. It’s cheaper to make, and it’s what most box stores sell.
Galvanized after weave (GAW): the fabric is woven and cut first, then the finished fabric is galvanized. The zinc covers the knuckles, the twists and the cut ends — the exact spots where GBW fabric starts to rust. It costs more to make, and it lasts longer. That’s what we sell.
On a backyard dog run, that’s the difference between a fence that stays silver and one that shows rust at the top and bottom edges. On a commercial perimeter, it’s thousands of cut ends, and a failed run costs far more than the fabric did. Both kinds of roll are labeled “galvanized,” so ask which one you’re buying.
What sizes and gauges do you carry?
| Fabric | Gauge | Heights |
|---|---|---|
| Residential | 11½ and 12½ gauge | 4', 5', 6' |
| Commercial | 11 gauge | 4' to 8' |
| Heavy commercial | 9 gauge | 4' to 12'; taller by special order |
| Vinyl-coated | Special order | Black, green or brown |
Steel prices change almost every week, so fabric is priced at the counter on the day you buy. It’s sold by the linear foot, with a charge to cut a partial roll. Contractor, school, government and volume orders pay less.
Gauge, in one line: the lower the gauge number, the thicker the wire. Heavier-gauge fabric costs more and stands up better to impact, climbing and time; it’s what commercial and security jobs call for.
Everything else a chain link fence needs
- Posts: line posts, terminal (end, corner and gate) posts and top rail. On steel posts, the wall thickness matters most on tall fences and at gates. We stock chain link posts and top rail in every common size, from light .047 and .055 residential posts up to Schedule 40 pipe from 1⅝ to 6⅝ inches for commercial fence. Posts & rails →
- Fittings: tension bands, brace bands, tension bars, rail ends, post caps, loop caps and ties.
- Gates: chain link walk gates and double drive gates, with hinges and latches. Pre-built residential walk gates are stocked 36, 39, 42, 48 and 60 inches wide, and double drive gates 10 and 12 feet wide, all in 4-, 5- and 6-foot heights; the counter can order a few other sizes.
- Security top: barbed wire and razor ribbon, with extension arms, stocked by the roll at all three Fence Supply Centers.
- Tools and concrete: fence stretchers and post-hole concrete.
Bring the length, height and number of gates, and the counter builds the full list — fabric, posts, rail, fittings and gates — with a total.
Chain link for commercial and oilfield sites
Contractors, businesses, schools and government buyers get discounted pricing, with deeper discounts by volume, and charge accounts are set up case by case. Delivery to the site starts at $75 ($150 from Midland), and larger orders ride on a semi with a piggyback forklift. If you’d rather have it built, All-State builds security and perimeter fence to twelve feet with barbed wire or razor ribbon, using this same galvanized-after-weave fabric. Commercial fencing →

Questions
How is chain link priced?
By the linear foot, with a charge to cut a partial roll. Steel prices change almost every week, so call the nearest Fence Supply Center for today’s price.
Is galvanized after weave better than galvanized before weave?
Yes. After-weave fabric is coated once it’s woven and cut, so the knuckles and cut ends are protected. Before-weave is cheaper and rusts first at those points.
Is box-store chain link galvanized after weave?
Most box-store chain link is galvanized before weave. Check the label or ask; both are sold as “galvanized.”
Do you sell chain link parts separately?
Yes — posts, top rail, bands, bars, caps, ties and gates, with no minimum order.
Do you deliver chain link?
Yes, from all three Fence Supply Centers, starting at $75 ($150 from Midland).
