Dog Ear
The Dog Ear style is a very nice fence that has gained popularity over the last fifteen years. Many home owners have switched to this style because they wanted a different look from the traditional Gothic Point style which was the only style available in this area for many years. Even though the boards are installed flush together, they will shrink after the first couple of weeks, as all fencing lumber is green when received from the lumber mills. If there are concerns about gaps between the pickets after shrinkage, the Board on Board or the Board & Bat styles are suggested as their designs eliminate the shrinkage problem.
