Metal Frame Gates

Have us custom build a Metal Frame for your gate.

Wood frame gates work well on gates less than 44" in width. However, the wider walk gates and the double drive gates are too heavy for a wood frame design. On the wood frame gates, lag screws are used to attach the hinges directly to the wood rails. The regular size walk gates usually hold up well in this design. The weight of the wider heavier gates will cause the gates to sag over time. We highly recommend the metal frame gates for any double drive gate or oversized walk gate. The metal frame design prevents sagging and provides the strength necessary to hold up the heavier gates.

Metal Frame Design

A Heavy Metal Post is used as the Hinge Post - Commercial Bull Dog Hinges are used to hold up the Gate Frame - A 1 5/8" × Schedule 40 Heavy Welded Gate Frame is held up by the Bull Dog Hinges. This design does not allow for sag.

We can custom build a metal frame to support your gate. In order to do so, we need the exact measurements of your gate. Please provide us with the exact width in-between the two metal posts from inside post to inside post. If you are building a new gate, you need to allow 10" over the gate opening width. For example, if you are planning a 4' gate, then allow 58" from inside post to inside post. Then measure from the top of the top rail to the top of the middle rail. Your third measurement will be from the top of the middle rail to the top of the bottom rail.
